Nazrul researcher Shafi Chakladar has the family legacy of athletics and authorship. His father was an athlete and mother was a writer. He has to his credit nine books on Kazi Nazrul Islam, which reminds us famous Nazrul researcher Shahabuddin Ahmad who had twelve books on Nazrul and whose contribution was an era of rejuvenation of the study of Nazrul literature. Shafi Chakladar was a writer on sports. He was fortunate enough to be the caretaker of Kazi Nazrul Islam at Dhaka since 72 to 75. Shafi Chakladar’s books on Nazrul are Jibon Sayahnner Nazrul-Ke Jemon Dekhechhi (’88), Jatiyo Kobi Nazrul : Nana Prosongo (2003) Nazruler Upomai Chand (2004), Songeet-e Nazrul Songeet (2012), Nazrul-er Bidrohi (2012), Nazrul-er Upomai Phul (2018) Chhotoder Nazrul (2015) Sur O Banir Sreshthotwe Nazrul Songeet (2015) and Amader Nazrul (2017).
The book contains twenty eight chapters and includes some articles on music. The writer, being an expert in different sides of music, has elaborately discussed the musical mode and musical instrument. The researcher has discussed: Jolsa, Saqi, Bulbul and many other words used in the literature of the Great Poet. Preparing statistics is a very important work, which is difficult also. And when someone is engaged in the preparation of statistics of the literature and music of our National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam, it is a huge task to contribute. Thanks for the writer’s achievement which is because of his lifelong research on Nazrul literature and songs.

Al Hafiz’s thoughts are based on religious humanism, our glorious history and heritage. Protesting spirit, love and spiritual philosophy guide him. He is in quest of Truth and Beauty, which are far to reach in the present catastrophe. Hypocracy, social discrimination and international aggression and atrocities-everywhere dynamic change for a welfare world is the crying need and the dream of the poet. He has thus called to come out of the prevalent catastrophe. The poet expects the ‘unclothed awe’ be changed to a bright future of ‘clothed modesty.’ The book has been dedicated to National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam.
