Ganer Kobi Praner Kobi Nazrul, Dhaka, a literary cultural organization, has published a booklet ‘The Rebel’ on 21st June 2019 on the occasion of awarding prize to Anis Fatema, for her translation of Bidrohi, the unique, unparalleled Poem of Kazi Nazrul Islam, the National Poet of Bangladesh. The translation of the poem was published in the New Nation in the Supplement on the Birth Anniversary of the Poet on 25th May 2019/11 Joishtho 1426 BS.
The Rebel is a poem, which was a challenge to imperialism, oppression and injustice and it appears to be the mightiest voice in the world of literature against inhuman aggression, suppression and injustice .
The book, in addition to poem, ‘The Rebel,’ includes three articles evaluating the message of the poem and its translation. These are : Kazi Nazrul Islam : The Great Rebel by Professor Anwarul Karim PhD, Kazi Nazrul Islam : The Rebel for the ‘Honour of Humanity’ by Abdul Muqit Chowdhury and Kazi Nazrul Islam :The Pioneer Rebel of all ages by Anis Fatema.
The publisher Farid Sayed and the writers in the booklet have congratulated the translator for her achievement in the translation of this masterpiece of the ‘Rebel Poet.’ They have also mentioned that the credit of publishing the latest translation of the poem in the Birth Day Supplement of the Poet in The New Nation goes to the authority. In his article Prof Dr Anwarul Karim welcomed the translator in the following words “… I welcome Anis Fatema to this great world of female stalwarts of Bengal and India who contributed to the world literature. Bon Voyage, Anis Fatema.”
The Publication programme has been a success as some Nazrul loving organizations extended their co-operation to project the ‘mightiest voice of humanity.’ These are Nazrul Academy, Bangladesh Lekhak Samity, Nandini Shahityo PathChakra, Trinomul Lekhak Sangha, Amra Banglar Shontan, Friend Circle, Nazrul-Promila Parishad and Bhasha Andolon Smritiroksha Parishad.
The book has been dedicated to lovers of Kazi Nazrul Islam.
The publication of the translation of Bidrohi, in a booklet will contribute to wider circulation for which the publisher deserves appreciation.
