Speakers at a function on Friday urged the people to make reading books a habit in every family to create enlightened citizens.
Students should read more books to become worthy citizens flourishing their latent talent, they told the prize distribution function of book reading programme-2016 at Shilpakala Academy in the city.
Founder of Biswa Shahitya Kendra Prof Abdullah Abu Sayeed, writer and deputy editor of the daily Prothom Alo Anisul Haque and TV personality Dr Abdun Nur Tushar, among others, addressed the function.
Biswa Shahitya Kendra organized the book reading programme for the students at college level.
A total of 2,500 students from 15 colleges in Dhaka city took part in the book reading programme. Among the participants, 752 students were awarded at the function.
