Book on childhood aspiration launched

A book for children titled “The Moon Jumping” was launched at a function at the Jatiya Press Club on Thursday.
Written in English by young writer Sabrina Karim and published this month from Singapore, the book is a fantasised portrayal of child’s dream and childhood aspiration.
“This book will help a lot in flourishing and nourishing children’s imagination, which is very important as they grow up,” Mustafata Monwar told the launching programme.
Citing from the writings of Rabindranath Tagore, the eminent artist who also writes for children, said one cannot be a creative person without imagination, and Sabrina’s book would help children flourish their creative faculty.
Sabrina Karim, who used to work for protecting child rights, made debut in creative writing with this book.
Sabrina said the book is a reflection of her experience about child psychology and she illustrated it in a style suitable for children.
Professor of History Department of Dhaka University Dr. Asha Islam presided over the launching programme where the writer’s mother and fashion designer Shirin Karim was present. A congratulatory message from eminent novelist Selina Hossain was read out at the programme.
Sabrina is the daughter of Prime Minister’s Press Secretary and former Managing Director and Chief Editor of Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha Ihsanul Karim.
Bengal Book and Bengal Publications are the local distributors of the book, which will be available at different bookstores and online bookstore rokomari.com.
