Book Fair on Independence Day begins at JU today

A seven-day long ‘book fair’ to mark the Independence Day will begin today (Thursday) on the campus of Jahangirnagar University.
The Bangla Department of the university organises the book fair.
The Convener of the fair Associate Professor of Bangla Department Rezaul Karim Talukder (Tarek Reza) disclosed this at a press conference in the lounge room of Bangla Department at 2.00 pm on Wednesday.
Chairman of Bangla Department Professor Abu Dayen, Professor Khaled Hossain, Tazul Islam Toha and General Secretary of Bangla Sangsad were present at the conference, among others.
The fair will remain open for all from 11am to 8:00pm every day. Besides, many cultural programmes and seminars will be held on the premises of the department..
 “About 40 publication houses will take part in the fair. The publishers will keep many rare books on Liberation War for the students. I think the fair will be successful one,” Rezaul Karim Talukder said.
He also called upon the teachers and the students of the university to attend the fair and buy at least one book each.
