Renowned actress Bonna Mirza has signed up for a government-funded film Ghor Geosthi.
The versatile actress has been working on stage, television and in films for the last two decades. She was highly applauded for her eponymous role in Rabeya, directed by Tanvir Mokammel. According to a press release, the film is an adaptation from a story written by acclaimed writer Hasan Azizul Huq. The filming locations are in remote areas of the Bhairab district. Forty percent of the shooting has already been completed.

She received the India-Bangladesh Friendship Award in 2018, JCI Peace Award in 2017, Canada-Bangladesh Solidarity Award in 2016, Bhashani Memorial Award in 2005, Television Audience Forum Award in 2003, Gold Medal in 2003, and Bachasas Award for Play for Nityapuran in 2001. She has also been nominated two times for the critics’ award in Meril-ProthomAlo Awards.
Additionally, Bonna is a regular speaker in different forums that includes organisations like UN and USAID. She has served as an ambassador for Unicef AIDS preventive campaign.
