Bone marrow transplant rally held in city

A colourful rally was brought out in the capital on Wednesday morning by the doctors and nurses of Hematology Department of Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH). The purpose of the rally was to raise awareness about cancer and the necessity to register bone marrow donors in our country.
Besides members of Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) , doctors
and nurses from Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) also participated in the rally. This rally was held at the DMC premises and ended at the same venue after a walk surrounding the Jatiya Press Club, High Court and Doel Chatter grounds.
A total 200 participants joined the rally chanted slogan’ Be a bone marrow donor and save a life’. The banner held read, ‘First Year BMT Celebration Rally of BMDP’. All participants looked elegant in white aprons.
Later in the evening, a seminar was held in this connection at a city hotel in city where local physicians, researchers and foreign delegates from USA expressed their happiness at the success story of Bangladesh.
