Bombs hurled at Justice Saifur’s residence

Staff Reporter :Unknown assailants hurled several crude bombs targeting the residence of High Court judge Abu Taher Mohammad Saifur Rahman at Dhanmondi in Dhaka on Thursday night. Justice Saifur Rahman was a member the two-member HC bench which ordered the government to stop publicising BNP Senior Vice-Chairman Tarique Rahman’s statements in the media. Police said a gang of miscreants hurled several bombs at Saifur Rahman’s residence at Road No: 7/A, House No: 92/B, Judges Complex at Dhanmondi in the city at about 7:45 pm.However, none was reportedly injured in the blast. When contacted, Officer-in Charge of Dhanmondi Police Station said that the miscreants threw the cocktails from outside the residence. A huge contingent of police has been deployed in the area to prevent further untoward incident.Other member of the bench was Justice Quazi Reza-Ul Hoque. His Feni residence was torched by the miscreants in the small hours of Thursday.
