IT is one of the greatest misfortunes of life having to witness the death of one’s child before them. This has been manifested by the father of dead 5 year-old Sahir Abu Namous, who is among scores of parents having to cradle the bodies of their lifeless children, the bloodied victims of Israel’s inhuman attack on the residents of Gaza.
According to latest reports, more than 159 Palestinians have been killed in five days of bombardment, a number that is steadily increasing every hour. Gaza medical officials have confirmed that among the dead, 70 percent are women and children. Ashraf al-Qadri, information director at al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City warned of a ‘catastrophic effect’ on young lives if the spiral of violence continues. At the hospital, 4 year-old Shayma al-Masri was writhing in pain with shrapnel injuries to her upper body. Her aunt Samah, addressing Israeli mothers, said children are precious on both sides of the conflict, “When the child comes to hide in my arms and I find the entire house falling on top of us what do I do then? Just like you fear for yourselves we fear for ourselves too. Just like you fear for your children we fear for our children too.”
We believe there is an explanation for this trend in child casualties, that being the eradication of Palestine’s future, their children. The children of Gaza are not just paying the price of hatred borne by and for their ancestors by dying- they are also paying by surviving. Some are carrying that hatred in them which may lead them to become violent insurgents, and others are becoming psychologically mangled by suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), according to a children’s rights group on the ground.
Also representing Israel’s passionate hatred for Palestinians and their intent to wipe off their roots is the disturbing social media post of a prominent Israeli lawmaker, Ayelet Shaked. Not only does she advocate specifically for the bombing and deaths of Palestinian mothers, but also of the “physical homes in which they raised the snakes. Otherwise, more little snakes will be raised there. “This shows their complete disregard of the inhuman persecution of the Palestinian people and also their blind contempt of their children.
It is Israel which has the tanks, bombers, artillery, nuclear warheads and missile defences of Goliath which seem hell bent on annihilating Palestinian civilians, including the innocent children of Gaza, who barely have enough to survive, let alone attack Israel.
The Muslim countries are not so helpless that they cannot supply modern weapons to the Palestinian fighters. What is clear is that state terrorists like Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of Israel do not want peace. Israel is being maintained and protected to punish Muslim countries of the Middle East. Big scale war is inevitable, they should be ready.
