A Jatiyatabadi Jubo Dal leader was shot and injured by police while he was fleeing after hurling a petrol bomb at a bus in the city’s New Market area on Sunday night.
The bullet injured Jubo Dal man was identified as Abdur Razzaq, Organizing Secretary, Ward No. 18 and resident of Azimpur area in the capital.
He is now undergoing treatment at the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital [DMCH] under police custody.
Quoting the witnesses, New Market Police Station’s Sub-Inspector (SI) Md Ansarul Islam said that
police arrested him from in front of Rafin Plaza when Razzaq was fleeing after throwing a petrol bomb at passenger bus of VIP Paribahan around 7:30pm.
He received bullet on his right leg, said the DMCH police Outpost In-Charge and Sub-Inspector (SI) Mozammel Haque.
