Staff Reporter :At least 25 persons were severe burnt as miscreants conducted petrol bomb attacks in Dhaka, Rajshai and Bogra on Friday night.At least fifteen persons including two women received burn injuries as Shibir caders hurled petrol bombs on a passenger bus in the city’s Katherpoool area under Jatrabari police station at about 9:30pm.The injured passengers were admitted to Burn Unit of Dhaka Medical College and Hospital. Besides, nine persons, including three women and a child, received severe burn injuries when Shibir cadres hurled petrol bombs on two passenger buses at Poba and Tanor upazilas in Rajshahi district on Friday evening, Rajshahi Correspondent reported. Several other panic-stricken passengers were also injured when they tried to disembark the buses after the blast.OC of Tanor Police Station Anwar Hossain said, “The second attack was conducted near BRAC office beside Rajshahi-Tanor road. A group of Shibir cadres hurled petrol bombs on the bus of Ya-Rabbi Paribahan.””A fire caught in the bus due to explosion of petrol bomb. At least nine passengers, including women and childen, were injured at that time. Other got injured as they tried to get-off the bus,” the OC said.The burn injured were identified as, Makbul Hossain, 45, and his wife Anwara, 40, Farzana, 5, Julekha, 30, Ashraf, 37, Achhia,7, and Ayenuddin, 35. Another one’s identity could not be known immediately. In another incident, the Shibirmen conducted a separate attack at Poba leaving several others injured. Officer-in-Charge of Poba Police Station Motiar Rahman said that the incident took place at Teghari area when a Rajshahi-bound bus of Iman Paribahn was passing the way.Locals caught two Shibir cadres after a brief chase and handed over them to police after a good beating. They were identified as Moshiur Rahman and Abdul Awal. They were sent to Rajshahi Medical College and Hospital for treatment.In another incident, Shibir caders hurled petrol bomb on a goods-laden truck in Bogra leaving its driver seriously inquired.
