The businessmen of Garaganj Bazar under Sailkupa upazila of the district had blocked the Jhenidah-Kushtia highway for two hours protesting bomb attack on a business establishment on Saturday morning. At the time hundreds of vehicle stranded on both side of the high way.
The blockade had disrupted the road communications for two hours. Later the blockade was withdrawn when the local upazila nirbahi officer had assured them taking necessary measures against the miscreants.
The business men said, some miscreants had been demanding ransom for an amount of Taka one lakh to a local businessman Abdul Kuddus at Garaganj Bazer over mobile phone few days back. As the trader did not pay the money, the miscreants at about 12.30 AM had thrown a number of crude bombs targeting the shop of Abdul Kuddus.
