The traditional Boli Khela (wrestling) was held at Shahid Shukkur Stadium of the district town on Tuesday. District Pahela Baishakh Udjapon Parishad arranged the event.
Total 70 Boli players (wrestlers) took part in the Boli Khela in three groups. Jakir Boli won the game while Ebrahim Boli was runner-up. The champion and the runner-up got a 21-inch and a 17-inch colour television respectively.
After the Boli Khela, Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Rangamati Md. Shamshul Arefin distributed prizes among the winners.
Members of National Human Commission Saif Uddin and Nirupa Dewan, Rangamati Police Super Sayed Md. Tariqul Hasan and Convener of the Boli Khela and Member of Rangamati Hill District Council Hazi Musa Mattobbar, and Additional District Magistrate Saif Uddin Ahmed were present at the prize giving ceremony.
Thousands of people from different parts of the district enjoyed the Boli Khela.
