Bokul’s two decades in acting

It was 1997 when she first acted in a TV play. On that year she also first acted in a film. She is Arjumand Ara Bokul who first acted in Faridur Rahman produced a play titled Hisab Nikash. During that time she was enlisted as an actress in Bangladesh Television.
On that year, she first acted in big screen by Shah Alam Kiron’s movie Ami Ek Omanush. In that movie, Bokul’s daughter Upoma played in role of late actress Diti’s daughter. From that time to till now Bokul has been acting with dedication and devotion.
Bokul is not only familiar as an actress but also a singer to all. She was enlisted as a singer in BTV in 2001. Bokul acted three movies are waiting to release now. Of those, Rajibul Islam’s Hridoyer Rongdhonu is stalled at Censor Board due to unknown reason for last one and half years. Within very short days Bokul acted another movie titled Bondhon directed by Anonno Mamun is going to be released. She has already finished shooting of Wajed Ali Sumon’s movie Money Rekho.
While talking about her latest movies Bokul told this correspondent, “My roles in these three movies were mentionable and significant. In fact, I acted in 30 movies till now during my decades of acting career. I am really grateful to viewers.”
Bokul was born at her maternal grandfather’s residence at Paikor in Bogra. But she was brought up at Kite Komolbati village of Kahalu of Bogra. On stage, her first play was Mahbuba Begum Hena directed Shesh Raat-er Golpo.
