Farmers across the district area are passing busy time in rearing Aus paddy after harvesting Boro on the same land to get self-reliance in the peak time in all twelve upazilas of Bogra district in this current season.
The farmers are expecting bumper production of the crops this season as the Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE) has provided necessary agri-imputs to make the programme a grand success. The farmers of the area are showing more interest to grow Aus paddy getting benefited from the previous farming.
To motivate the them authority concern has already disbursed 5 Kg of well seeds, 20 Kg of Uniria fertilizer, 10 Kg of MOP , 10 kg of DAP for per head among the 7525 enthusiastic farmers. Farmers of Nandigram, Dhunot, Dupchanchia, Shonatola, Gabtoly, Shibgonj, Adamdighi and sadar upazilas get this advantages of the district. A short workshop session also arranged participating root level farmers to grow more Aus paddy easily across the area. On the other hand the department has also disbursed TK. 400 for each 7525 farmers so that they can bare the cost of irrigation without any hassle.
District DAE office source said, the farmers have brought around 23000 hectares of land under Aus paddy cultivation having harvested the much expanded boro- paddy in the same land aiming financially assistant. They hope 60 thousand mound of production of the paddy from the land if the weather condition remains favourable till ripen the crops, source urged.
A farmer Soleman Pachosha village under Kahaloo upazila said, “I have brought 0.65 acre of land under Aus cultivation in this season aiming bumper production of the crop spending TK. 12000 and hope TK. 50000 will be profit from the cropland.” “This off-seasonal paddy will help me to bear the cost of Transplanted Aman paddy cultivation if I get fair price from the crops.” He added.
When contracted DAE official said, to make the programme profitable we, provide the all sort of the necessary agricultural impute like fertilizer, seeds and irrigation cost. If the farmers have been given more facilities coming year they would bring massive land to grow Aus cultivation which cut the deficiency of the farmers, he expressed.
