At least 19 dead bodies were stolen from Bara Boali and Katrasin graveyards of Shibaloy Upazila in four rounds. It has created panic in the public mind. Three bodies were stolen from Bara Boali cemetery on Monday (September 20) night. Besides, another dead body was found dug up in the grave. There is fear in the area.
Additional Superintendent of Police (Shibalaya Circle) Nurjahan Labani, OC Shahnoor Alam, UP Chairman Haji Alal Uddin visited the spot.
Abdus Sattar Master, general secretary of the cemetery management committee, said that the bodies of local Nizamuddin, Samshul Haque and Shirin Akhtar were stolen from the Boro Boali cemetery, which is located on the side of the Dhaka-Aricha highway. Another dead body was found in the grave.
There are two solar lamps in operation. The other’s equipment was stolen. A week ago, 4 bodies were removed from the same cemetery.
Besides, on the night of August 10, 5 bodies were stolen from Katrasin cemetery and 7 bodies were stolen from Boali cemetery.
