Police recovered the body of a young girl from an abandoned trunk beside the Nabinagar-Kaliakoir highway of Baroipara in Ashulia of the district on Tuesday morning.
Identity of the deceased could not be known immediately. Mostafa Kamal, officer-in-charge of Ashulia police station, said locals spotted a trunk beside Jumma Mosque in Baroipara bus stand area and informed police.
On information, police recovered the body from the trunk and sent it to Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
Miscreants might have killed the girl somewhere at night and dumped the body there, suspected the OC.
A case was filed in this connection.
