Dead body of a middle aged man whose hands and legs were tied with ropes was recovered from a pond in the village Kathaltala within Piljanga Union Parishad under Fakirhat Upazila in the district by the police of Fakirhat PS on Monday morning.
In the morning some passers-by found the dead body floating in the pond belonging to one late SM Farad Hossain and informed the police of Fakirhat Model PS of the matter. Police rushed to the spot, recovered the dead body, prepared the present condition of it and sent the same to Bagerhat Sadar Hospital for its autopsy. It is guessed by the police and the locals that after killing the man someone or more persons threw the dead body into the pond. It was later identified by some relatives that the man was Abdul Hye (52), son of one late Shamsur Rahman of village Barakaria under the adjacent Batiaghata Upazila in Khulna district. In this connection a GD was lodged with Fakirhat PS.
