Police recovered the body of an unidentified man from the city’s Mirpur area on Friday.
The severely decomposed body was found in a tin-shed house of Mirpur-13 in the morning, said Jashim Uddin Molla, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Mirpur zone) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police.
The locals informed police around 10:00am that a very bad odour was coming from inside a house, which was locked from outside. Police broke into the house and found the body in a highly decomposed state, the police official said.
The neighbours told that the man was a mason, who moved into the house with his wife and child on the 13th day of this month, and they were last seen on November 21.
But the whereabouts of the deceased’s wife and child could not be known till filing of this report in the evening.
An Unnatural Death (UD) case was filed with the police station in this connection.
