Police on Friday recovered a dead body from a hotel room in the city’s Farmgate area.
The deceased was identified as Shafiq Ahmed Chowdhury, 45, from Lalkhan Bazar area of Chittagong, said Tejgaon Police Station Officer-in-Charge Mazhar-ul-Islam.
The deceased checked in on January 10. In the morning of yesterday, when hotel staff knocked at his room’s door, there was no response from inside. At this, the hotel authorities informed the matter to the police.
Police broke open the door and found his dead body there. Some alcohol was also found in the room, the OC said.
