Police recovered body of an unidentified man from Teknaf upazila here on Sunday noon.
Local sources said on Sunday at 1:30pm, some fishermen saw a body on an embankment of the Naf River under Shahparir Dwip of Sabrang union in the upazila and informed police.
Being informed, a police team led by Sub-Inspector (SI) Md Ariful Islam of Teknaf Police Station went to the spot and recovered the body.
No injury marks were found on the body.
Locals, however, said that the body might be of a mad man who was seen to roam around in different markets of Shahparir Dwip.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Teknaf Model Police Station Ataur Rahman Khandaker confirmed the matter and said a process to bury the body under the arrangement of local union parishad chairman was underway.
