Chittagong district police recovered the slaughtered body of a man from Nazirhat area under Fatikchhari upazila of the district yesterday.
The body was identified as Azam Khan Babu, 35, son of Amir Khan, hailed from Shahnagar village under Fatikchhari upazila of the district.
On information from the locals, Fatikchhari thana police recovered the slaughtered body of Babu from a bush near the bank of Halda river at Nazirhat area around 11.30am, said Shafiqul Islam, Sub-Inspector (SI) of Fatikchhari thana.
“Police also recovered a sharp knife from the spot”, the SI said, adding that the body bore several scores with sharp weapons.
Police suspect that Babu might have been killed in a pre-planned way while police were looking into the incident.
