Body of woman missing after falling from launch recovered

Dead body of old aged woman, who became missing after falling from running launch, was recovered after about 40 hours as stucked on a shoal near Janagalia on Meghna River on Monday noon.
The deceased was identified as Henara Begum, 55, wife of Montu Haoladar of Amua under Kathalia upazila of Jhalakathi.
She was travelling on the lower deck of the Dhaka bound triple-deck vessel MV Sundarbon-10 with her family members on Saturday night.
Abidur Rahman, officer in charge of Mehendiganj police station, confirming this report, said the dead body was recovered about forty hours after falling from the Dhaka bound MV Sundarbon-10 while crossing Gazaria River near Nalbunia of Kazirhut under Mehendiganj upazila of Barishal.
Later launch authourity informed local police station, river-police and fire service authorities about the incident and they started searching.
After informed by local people police recovering the dead body handed over to family members lodging a case of unnatural death on Monday noon, police sources said.
Harunor Rashid, supervisor of the launch, said they left Barishal port at about 9:00 PM Saturday and the victim was travelling her family members on lower deck.
Quoting his son Aminul, launch supervisor said Henara was mentally sick and her family members were going Dhaka with her to consult a doctor of mental disease.
She was sleeping with her family members and after 11 pm she alone went to the back side of the launch, where one passenger saw her jumping to the river, the launch supervisor added.
Then after informing police the family members of the victim boarded to another Barishal bound launch MV Parabat-12 to return for searching and recovery of the victim, launch supervisor told.
