A senior leader of the ruling Awami League’s student front in Satkhira has been found dead. The body of Emon Hossain, 25, was recovered on Tuesday morning from a fish farm near the district town, said police.
Hossain was the joint secretary general of Bangladesh Chhatra League’s (BCL) Satkhira district unit.
Police suspect he was strangled to death. Satkhira police OC Firoz Hossain Molla said they recovered the body after locals at Sadar Upazila’s Dhulihar Union spotted it. “Police confirmed the identity from a mobile phone found on the body,” he told bdnews24.com. The police officer added that they were questioning two persons over the incident.
