The body of valiant Freedom Fighter Shahidul Haque Mama would arrive here today four days after he breathed his last at a Doha hospital, Qatar at the age of 67.
A flight of Qatar Airways will touch the ground of Shahjalal International Airport at 6 am today carrying the body of the fearless freedom fighter, who was a student of Dhaka University (DU).
The body would be brought to the Central Shaheed Minar at 10:30 am so that people of all walks of life could pay their last tributes to the freedom fighter popularly known as Mama.
He also would be accorded a guard of honour as a mark of ceremonial respect to the freedom fighters on the premises of Shaheed Minar.
Haque’s body would be taken to DU Central Mosque at noon where his namaj-e-janaza would be held. Later, the body would be taken to his ancestral home in the city’s Rupnagar in Mirpur area.
He will be laid to eternal rest at the Martyred Intellectuals Graveyard in the city.
Haque suffered a cardiac arrest on a Qatar Airlines flight from Dhaka to Stockholm on April 28. He was admitted to Al Waker Hospital in Doha, Qatar where he breathed his last around 12 am on Friday last.
