Police recovered the body of a policeman from South Kalikapur area in the district town yesterday morning.
The deceased was Obaidul Islam, 47, son of late Dabir Hossain, resident of Bakri village under Harisankarpur union in Sadar upazila.
Being informed, a team of police rushed to the spot and recovered the body near his house at about 10 am, said officer-in-Charge of Sadar Thana Hasan Hafizur Rahman.
Later, the body was sent to Sadar hospital morgue.
Police suspected that he might be killed by strangulation, the OC added.
Obaidul was working at Chuadanga Sadar Thana and was on leave.
