Body of a Nepali student was found on the bank of Teesta River under Kaunia upazila of the district on Sunday morning.
The deceased was identified as Paban Keci Khetri, student of Rangpur Community Medical College and a Nepal national.
However, earlier on Friday, Paban along with some of his friends hired a boat to move on Teesta. At one stage the boat capsized. Locals managed to rescue all except Paban.
Fire fighters conducted a drive to search Paban in the day but failed.
Police, recovered his floating body from the area around 9:10am.
The Director of Rangpur Community Medical College Al-Amin said that the students were on a tour without the permission of the authority. Officer-in-Charge of Kaunia Thana Abdul Latif confirmed the matter to banglanews.
