A child, missing for 14 days, has been found dead in a pond at Narayanganj.
Four-year-old Mairunnessa was identified through her clothing on Monday night, said Fatulla police OC Asaduzzaman. The pond she was found is located at an industrial estate by Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BSCIC) at Panchabati.
The child’s body was identified by her father Lutfor Rahman who works as a security guard at Knit Complex, a garment factory inside the industrial estate. Her mother is a garment factory worker. The family lived in a rented house at Fatulla’s Kalabagh area.
A general diary was filed at Fatulla Model Police Station on Feb 10, two days after the child went missing, said OC Asaduzzaman. “Posters with her photo were put up following her disappearance.”
