The floating body of a minor girl was recovered from a pond in the capital’s Hazaribagh area on Sunday afternoon. The identity of the victim could not be known immediately.
Locals saw the part of the body stuffed in a suitcase floating in the pond in Kulanagar Beribadh area of Hazaribagh around 3pm and informed police.
Later, the law enforcers recovered the body and sent it to Mitford Hospital morgue for autopsy.
Officer-in-charge Kazi Mainul Islam of Hazaribagh Police Station confirmed the incident.
