Police recovered the body of a minor girl from the water tank of an under-construction building in the city’s Darus Salam area on Sunday after one month of her disappearance.
The deceased was identified as Sadia Akter Mou (6), a playgroup student of Kabi Nazrul Islam Kindergarten, daughter of apparel couple Pavel Mia and Eti akhter, she hailed from the village Choihar under Nandail upazilla of Mymensingh district.
Moshiur Rahman, Sub-Inspector of Darus Slam Police Station said the girl had gone missing since February 22. Later her maternal uncle filed a general dairy with the police station. Sunday morning,
locals get stink from the water tank of the under constraction building and informed police station.
The SI suspects that the child accidentally fell into the water tank and died.
Family members said Mou went out of their residence for play on the day after returning from school. But she did not return home.
Later, the body was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) morgue for autupsy.
