Body of cop’s wife found in Manikganj

Members of law-enforcing agencies on Saturday recovered a body of a police officer’s wife from a flat in Reserve Tank area in Manikganj district.
The deceased was identified as Bilkis Akhter, 30, daughter of Majed Ali of Sribari village at Baratia Union of Ghior upazila in Manikganj.
She was a mother of two, and her husband was a policeman named Masud Rana, a constable posted in Gazipur.
Sadar police went to the spot at around 10am. Superintendent of Police Mohammad Golam Azad Khan and Additional Superintendent of Police (Sadar Circle) Bhaskar Saha also visited the scene later.
Upon hearing the cries of the two children of the victim, the neighbours went to the spot and found the victim dead with her hands, legs, mouth, and neck tied. Later, they informed
the police of the situation.
ASP Bhaskar Saha said that the victim was initially thought to have died of strangulation, but the motive behind the killing is still unknown. It cannot be verified until an investigation is conducted.
The body was sent to the morgue of the 250 Bed District Hospital of Manikganj for autopsy at noon.
