Police recovered the body of a man, who was reportedly shot to death by Indian Border Security Force (BSF) members on Kushkhali border early Saturday, from a field at Badhilki village in Sadar upazila early Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Mukul Hossain, 35,
son of Mahatab Uddin of Hawalkhali village in the upazila.
Sub-inspector of Sadar Police Station Abul Kalam said being informed by the local people, a team of police recovered the body from a field at Badhilki village at about 12:30 am.
The body was sent to Satkhira Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy. Earlier, BSF troops from Dubli camp opened fire on a group of Bangladeshi men, including Mukul, while they were returning homes with cattle around 3:00am on Saturday, leaving him dead on the spot. Officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station Emdad Hossain confirmed the incident.
