The body of a bank official who went missing after landslide at Dalianpara in Ruma upazila on July 23 was recovered from the Sankha River at Tarasa in Roangchhari upazila on Thursday.
Acting deputy commissioner of the district Harun-or-Rashid said local people spotted the body of Goutam Nandi, second officer of Ruma Agriculture Bank, around 4 pm and informed police who recovered it later, raising the death toll from the landslide to four.
Two people were still missing, Rashid said.
Goutam’s body was handed over to his family members.
Meanwhile, the local administration provided Tk 20,000 to the family members of the victim for funeral.
On July 23 last, Chingmanu, 16, daughter of Mongshoihla and a class X student of Bangalhalia High School of Ruma upazila, was killed and five people went missing in the landslide caused by heavy rains.
