The fire service volunteers have recovered the body of a worker who went missing after a trawler carrying stones sank in the canal of Karnafuli river estuary . The body was recovered from the Kalarpool area around 10:30 am on Wednesday (March 3).
The victim’s name is Md. Abul Kalam Munshi. He was the son of Syed Ahmed from Subarnachar area of Noakhali. Earlier on Tuesday night, a trawler laden with stones sank after colliding with a pillar of a bridge under construction in the Kalarpull canal river area of the Karnafuli River. Two people were missing at this time.
Patiya Fire Station leader Moni Tripura told that the locals informed the fire service after seeing the body floating in the river. Later, the body was recovered from the spot and handed over to the police.
