A committee has been formed to investigate Friday’s collapse of a pandal on the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque premises that killed one person and injured 22 others.
The Islamic Foundation secretary is leading the five-member body,
State Minister for Religious Affairs Sheikh Md Abdullah told the media on Saturday.
Abdullah visited the injured at the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) and National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedic Rehabilitation (NITOR) on Saturday morning, said his Assistant Private Secretary Sheikh Nazmul Haque.
The family of Shafiqul Islam, who died during the pandal collapse, was given Tk 25,000.
Abdullah promised to ensure proper treatment for injured Afzal Hossain, and shift injured Assistant Sub-Inspector of Special Branch Shariful Islam, 36, to NITOR.
