UNB, Tangail :
Police recovered the bodies of three women, all of whom likely had unnatural deaths, from different locations of Sakhipur, Mirjapur and Bhuapur upazilas of the district on Monday. Informed by locals Monday morning, police recovered the body of RMG worker Majeda, 23, daughter of Marfat Khan of Jagatpura village of the upazila, from beside the banks of the Jamuna as it flows through the village, said officer-in-charge of Bhuapur Police Station AKM Kawser Chowdhury.
Some 11 days after she allegedly went missing, police around noon today also recovered the decomposed body of Rahima Begum, 45, wife of Liakat Ali, from a well at their
home in Satiachara village of Mirjapur, said officer-in-charge of Mirjapur police Station Moin Uddin. In Sakhipur, from a pond in the village of Kachua, a team of police recovered the body of Sharbanu Begum, 55, wife of late Mafiz Uddin, said officer-in-charge of the upazila police station Maksudul Alam. At this early stage, it would seem all three of the women died unnatural deaths, with suicide also in the picture. There is nothing as yet to suggest however that their deaths were necessarily connected in any way, except for having occurred in Tangail.
