Police recovered bodies of two minors early Wednesday from a deep forest at Garzania Borobeel area under Ramu upazila here after their abduction four days back.
They were identified as twin brothers- Imam Hasan, 11, and Imam Hossein, 11, sons of Md Forkan alias Mintu of the said area.
In-Charge Anisur Rahman of Baishari Police Investigation Centre said the two minors were abducted on January 17 last. The abductors demanded Tk 4 lakh to their relatives through mobile phone.
On Tuesday, police arrested an abductor Abdu Shukkur, and on his confessional statements, the bodies were recovered early Wednesday.
Later, police managed to arrest the other abductor Alamgir Hossen.
Police primarily suspected that the minors were strangulated to death.
The bodies were sent to Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsies.
Meanwhile, agitated people burnt down the house where the bodies of the two minors were found at 11am on Wednesday.
