Internationally acclaimed noted Bangladeshi film actress Bobita won hearts of many film-lovers to act in hundreds movies. She is the only actress of Bangladesh who got the opportunity to work in Satyajit Ray’s movie. Bobita is not only acted in movies but also engaged with various social activities when she was actively worked in role of heroine in films. She also
produced movies Phoolsojja, Poka Makorer Ghor Boshoti, Agomon, Lottery, Lady Smuggler and Deshi Rongbaj. She had keen interest to give direction of movie which still remains in her mind. While talking in this regard Bobita told this correspondent over mobile phone on Wednesday, “Once I wanted to make a movie. That want still remains in my mind. But I truly say that giving
direction of movie is not an easy task. The matter is not like that I will make movie and somebody will co-operate me in this regard and my name will be mentioned as director – I don’t want this.
If I wanted this I could make movie many years ago. From my point of view as I believe before giving direction a director must have proper knowledge, understanding and learning about film-making. Then the director should start to give direction of movie. I have still interest to give direction of movie. But I don’t know what will be happened in future.” Meanwhile, last few years Bobita is not seen in any movie. She got many offers from film directors but due to disliking stories and overall representation of her characters in those movies she refused to work. Bobita was last seen to act in Nargis Akhter’s movie Putro Ekhon Paisawala. World famous filmmaker Satyajit Ray’s birth centenary was on May 21. To pay tribute to this noted filmmaker, Aparajito Satyajit was published by Journalism and Mass Communication Centre of University of Kalyani on August 26. Satyajit’s Pather Panchali was released on August 26 in 1955. For this reason, this book was published on that day to mark the birth centenary of Satyajit Ray where write-up of 55
writers of 8 countries took place. From Bangladesh, only Bobita got the scope to give her
write-up in the book for acting in Satyajit’s movie Ashani Sanket. Bobita is very much delighted
in this regard, she mentioned.
