Internationally renowned popular Bangladeshi film actress Bobita won the hearts of many film lovers of two Bengals to work in Satyajit Ray’s movie Ashani Sanket.
Soumitra Chatterjee acted against her in that movie. Released on August 15, 1973 among the Bangladeshi actresses, Bobita reached into the hit the highest point to act in this movie during that time because it was really a great luck for her to work under Oscar winner director. During that time she also received awards from BFJ, Bharat Proshar Samity, among others in India.
After 45 years of releasing Ashani Sanket Bobita is going to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award from India. She will get the award at the 17th Tele-Cine Award.
It was confirmed by owner of Versatile Media, organizer from Bangladesh, Arshad Adnan. General Secretary of Tele-Cine Award Mrinmoy Kanjilal informed that Bobita will get the Lifetime Achievement Award for her outstanding contribution in the field of movie in both Bangladesh and India.
While sharing her feelings to receive the award Bobita said, “It is really a great recognition for me globally. I am grateful to Versatile Media to select me for the achievement. Now I can recall the memories of works with Satyajit Ray and Soumitra Chatterjee. Everybody pray for me.”
Arshad Adnan informed that the Tele-Cine Award will be given to Bobita at 5:00pm on June 2 at Nazrul Moncha in Kolkata. Therefore, Bobita is also going to receive the National Film Award 2016 of Bangladesh soon.
