Bangladesh Olympic Association (BOA) handed over Tk 5 lakh as financial assistance to the country’s gold medallist shooter Sabrina Sultana at BOA office on Tuesday for her treatment.
BOA Secretary General Syed Shaheed Reza handed over a cheque to Sabrina’s husband Saiful Alam and hoped she will recover soon.
Sabrina Sultana, who is suffering from Neuromyelitis optica (NMO), solicited the Prime Minster for financial support for her better treatment abroad.
“A lot of money will be needed for my better treatment abroad. So I am urging for prime minister’s support. I know Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina helped so many people. I hope she will stand beside me,” Sabrina said.
The lower portion of Sabrina’s body is paralyzed and now she is under treatment of Neuro specialist Firoz Ahmed Quraishi.
No improvement was noticed during treatment in local hospital and local doctor suggested her to go abroad for better treatment.
