BNP on Tuesday announced a three-day programme to observe the Martyred Intellectuals Day and the Victory Day in a befitting manner.
BNP spokesman Asaduzzaman Ripon spelled out the programmes at a press briefing at BNP chairperson’s Gulshan office following a joint meeting of the party and its associate bodies.
As part of the programmes, the party will pay homage to martyred intellectuals, led by party Chairperson Khaleda Zia, at Mirpur Martyred Intellectuals Memorial in the morning on December 14, marking the day.
The party will also hold a discussion at the Jatiya Press Club in the afternoon on the day.
Besides, he said, BNP will bring out a ‘V Day Rally’ from its Nayapaltan central office at 3pm on December 16, celebrating the Victory Day.
The other programmes of the Victory Day include hoisting national and party flags atop the party offices in the morning, placing wreath by the BNP Chairperson at the National Mausoleum in Savar on December 16 and later placing wreaths at the mazar of late and BNP founder Ziaur Rahman at Sher-e-Banglanagar in the capital on the same day.
