Food Minister Advocate Quamrul Islam on Tuesday feared that BNP might indulge in acts of terrorism in the upcoming upazila polls.
“Though BNP remains calm like that of a polite boy now, don’t think that it’s their real political attitude. Their main way of pursuing politics is terrorism and violence,” he said pointing at the executives of Dhaka City Awami League while speaking at its extended meeting at Bangabandhu Avenue office in the city. Senior vice-president of Dhaka City Awami League (AL) Kamal Ahmed Mazumdar, MP, chaired the meeting, also attended, among others, by acting president of Dhaka City AL MA Aziz, general secretary and Relief and Disaster Management Minister Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya (Bir Bikram), vice-president Mukul Chowdhury, joint secretary Haji Md Selim, MP, organising secretary Shahe Alam Murad and publicity secretary Abdul Huq Sabuj.
Advocate Quamrul Islam said, “The BNP-Jamaat combine has been hatching a conspiracy to unleash terrorism after boarding the train of the upazila polls following its failure to catch up the train of national election.”
The Awami League leader called upon all to remain alert building united resistance against all sorts of terrorism of BNP and its allies.
