BNP nominated candidate in Kapasia, Brigadier General (retd) ASM Hannan Shah’s son Shah Riazul Hannan Riaz submitted nomination papers at the office of Assistant Returning Officer at 12:30 pm on Wednesday.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer and Assistant Returning Officer Moshar Ismat Ara and Upazila Election Officer Mohammad Humayun Kabir received nomination forms. While submitting the nomination papers, Shah Riazul Hannan made a strong demand to ensure equal opportunities and rights to all the candidates. At that time, Upazila BNP President Alhaj Khalilur Rahman, General Secretary Sakhawat Hossain Selim, former president Prof Emdadul Hossain, former general secretary Delwar Hossain Master, district BNP General Secretary Abdul Karim Bepari, BNP’s general secretary Afzal Hossain Bepari, upazila Jubo Dal President Hossain Sarwar were also present.
After submitting the nomination papers, responding to the questions of local journalists, h said, “I am a family of Kapasia’s traditional political family.” My grandfather Supreme Court reputable lawyer Late Fakir Abdul Mannan has been a central leader of the Muslim League in the 40’s and fifteenth and as a minister of the Ministry of Food and Trade, establishing schools, colleges, madrasas and various development works.
