BNP’s progs to mark Zia’s 82nd birth anniv

BNP and its associate bodies have chalked a weeklong programmes to observe the 82nd birth anniversary of its founder Ziaur Rahman in a befitting manner.
BNP senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi announced the programmes at a press
 briefing at the party’s Nayapaltan central office on Monday, after a joint meeting of the party and its associate bodies.
The programmes include placing wreaths at Zia’s grave, holding discussions, rallies, and essay competition, distribution of warm clothes and arranging free medical camp. Born on January 19, 1936 at Bagbari in Bogra, Ziaur Rahman founded the party in 1978 and become the country’s 7th president.
As part of the programmes to mark the birth anniversary, Rizvi said their party will arrange a discussion at the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh in the city on January 18. Besides, party flag will be hoisted atop all BNP offices across the country the following day. BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia along with party leaders and activists will place wreaths at Zia’s grave around 10:00am the same day. Doctors’ Association of Bangladesh (DAB) will arrange a daylong free medical camp at BNP’s Nayapaltan central office in observance of the day.
BNP’s associate bodies will also hold discussions and some other programmes on the occasion.
The party’s different city, district, upazila and thana units will also organise various programmes, including milad, discussions and essay competitions on the occasion.
