BNP’s human chain now on Sept 2

The BNP-led 20-party alliance rescheduled its on Saturday’s human-chain programme for Tuesday as the government denied it permission for holding it.
BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir came up with the announcement at a press conference at the party’s Nayapaltan central office on Saturday morning.
The BNP spokesman alleged the government did not allow them to hold their peaceful programme fearing the exposure of its misdeeds.
“The current regime which is the mastermind of killings and enforced disappearances thinks its fascist
face will get exposed before the world community if the 20-party alliance is allowed to observe the International Day of the Victims of Enforced Disappearance,” Fakhrul said.
Condemning the government move, he said they deferred the programme to Tuesday to avoid any violence.
The BNP leader said, they will later announce the time and spot of for staging the human-chain programme in the capital.
Officials of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) said they did not give the 20-party alliance permission for its programme apprehending that there might be chaos as the ruling party has a pre-scheduled rally at Suhrawardy Udyan.
