Tofazzol Hossain Bhuttu, a BNP-backed candidate for mayoral post in Santahar municipality of Bogura, has been elected unofficial in the second phase of elections.
Upazila election officer and assistant returning officer Abdur Rashid announced this on Saturday evening as Tofazzol Hossain got 386 more votes than his nearest rival.
This is his third time win for the same post.
Tofazzol Hossain bagged 7,788 votes while his rival Awami League candidate got 7,402.
A total of 25,669 voters are in the municipality.
