The BNP on Saturday announced countrywide demonstration for Monday demanding unconditional release of the party’s Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia from jail for her better treatment.
“The government has sent our leader to jail in a false case. She is seriously sick there. The government is found indifferent to her proper treatment.
We demand her immediate release for her better treatment,” BNP Senior Joint-Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said it in a press briefing at the party’s Nayapaltan central office in the city.
He said the demonstration would be held at all the thanas of all metropolitan cities and upazilas headquarters across the country.
The SC Appellate Division is scheduled to deliver order on Khaleda’s bail on Tuesday.
The party observed different programmes like token hunger strike, human chain, demonstration, leaflet distributions for her release from jail.
