BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi on Sunday announced countrywide demonstration on Tuesday in order to demand immediate release of the party Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia from jail.
He said it in a press conference at the party central office in the city’s Nayapaltan on Sunday afternoon.
He hit out at the Prime Minister’s recent remark that Khaleda was passing days in the jail like a queen.
Whereas, Rizvi alleged that the party chief had not been allowed to meet her family members since November 13, which made her depressed.
The BNP leader said that the government should allow Khaleda’s family members to meet her in jail once in every week.
He also condemned attack on BNP processions in Sirajganj, Dhaka and Faridpur and other places.
