Staff Reporter :The BNP has protested the government’s decision of the price hike of power, saying that the common people of the country will experience more sufferings. The party will stage demonstration today (Friday) in the cities, the districts and the upazilas across the country against the decision. BNP joint-secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed disclosed it to the journalists at the party’s Nayapaltan office in the city on Thursday evening. He urged the government to revise the decision of the price hike considering the financial condition of the common people. He said that the countrymen wouldn’t accept the price hike as it is against the interest of the common people. The government has failed to stop corruption and looting in the power sector, but increased its price frequently, he said. The BNP leader further said that the power price had been increased six times during the tenure of the Awami League government.
