Information Minister and Awami League leader Dr Hasan Mahmud said, whoso does politics by burning bus passengers, their tears for Nusrat is nothing but insulting her and all those who died in this way in the past.
The Minister said it with reference to the BNP’s leaders’ visit to Nusrat Jahan Rafi’s residence.
Dr Hasan Mahmud criticised the BNP for ‘politicising’ the death of Feni madrasa student Nusrat.
He said it in his Secretariat office in the view exchange meeting with the journalists on contemporary issues around the world on Tuesday.
“BNP leader Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain’s comment was an attempt to politicise the incident. It is disgraceful,” Information Minister Hasan Mahmud further said.
Nusrat was set afire on April 6 at an Alim examination centre in Sonagazi, allegedly by students loyal to madrasa Principal Sirajuddoula, accused of sexually harassing her and ordering to murder.
Accordingly the students loyal to the principle lit Rafi on fire who succumbed to her injuries after five days.
Minister Dr Mahmud said, government institutions will face disciplinary action if they are found to have shown negligence in connection with Nusrat’s death.
In Kushtia, Awami League Joint General Secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif said, it is unfortunate that BNP is doing politics with Nusrat’s murder.
He said that the people involved in the student’s killing will not be spared.
